Making new

He bought a 1968 Karmann Ghia before he could drive
worked to fix it
and drove it when he was able
I hear it was "sweet"
one day he sold it
to his father
who kept it all these years
it's again in a thousand parts
getting ready to be made new
for Grandpa
and the grandkids
and maybe for himself too

Respect and admiration
fundamental to this marriage which will soon mark 10 years
the respect I feel... in part a measure
of the respect I show myself
